Winter Cold / J.J. Bundle Me

The cold has well and truly set in and I can't deny that I did a little happy dance when my husband told me it was snowing in the wee early hours in the morning. I had to crank up the heat a little more than usual today to ward off the chill that has threatened to eek in through the windows and door. I also couldn't help but wish for my mother's well-stocked wood stove. Nothing heats like a wood stove and I miss sitting near it and feeling toasty warm! I love winter. I loved it as a kid and I love it now. The only difference is now I need to wrap my arthritic knees to protect them from the cold. I bundle myself to protect my achy joints and I bundle my son to keep him from getting cold then getting sick.

To keep my little man warm I was given a J.J. Cole infant sized Bundle Me. A hand-me down, it has survived very nicely. I used it to bring my son home and again in the fall until now. It has kept him snuggly warm even when he refuses to wear his shoes. He loves to be in his car seat when the Bundle Me is in it. He burrows into the shearling lining and almost falls instantly asleep. I've just ordered the toddler size of the down version of the same thing which has a hood. For the winter I thought this would be best since my little son has a hard time to keep on hats and such. These are such ingenious things, I love them! They are designed in such a way that the bottom half can be left in the car seat while the top can get zipped off and left off if the need be. It can be transferred from car seat to stroller very easily and washes very nicely. the only down fall is that the thickness that keeps my little boy warm does make the car seat a little smaller. The end result is that the straps may fit a little tighter than usual. If your baby is close to maxing out the infant child seat than they might not fit with the Bundle Me. Over all it's well worth the buy, which can be a little expensive at around $40-$60.
